The 4th grade students began learning about triplets this week. We began by reviewing our meter signs of 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4. The students were reminded that the quarter note gets one beat and that 2 eighth notes equal one beat. The concept that a set of 3 eighth notes with a 3 above it means that it is a triplet and it gets 1 beat. We sang a song using triplets and clapping to the rhythm of the song. In our Quaver - Qstudent, we used our iPads to access the content in class. Students were taken to the Rhythm Selectah game and had a chance to create their own rhythms and practiced clapping and counting the rhythms. We then shared on the Smart board. Here are a few photos.
