The 5th graders had a chance today to investigate everything that they can do on our Quaver app. We experimented with the student interactives. In one of the classes the students used their recorders from last year and learned some of the new songs in Quaver. It was a great chance for them to remember their note reading skills and to review the recorder fingerings. The students are able to sign into Quaver Music on their computers at home with their username and password that they use on the app. I hope you get a chance to try it out. The website is www.quavermusic.com. Enjoy!!!
Today in 5th grade we began learning about 6/8 meter. The students counted some exercises in the lesson, played "Jiggy Jig" with their recorders and used their iPads to work with 6/8 grooves. We will continue more of this lesson next week.
We are back at it! We are so excited to be using Quaver Music on our iPads. The 5th graders reviewed triplets this week and they worked with the Rhythm Selectah Triplets. The students learned how to scan a QR code to go to the class website for Quaver. So many new and exciting things to do. The students chose their favorite combination and performed it for the class. Some clapped the rhythm, others clapped the steady beat and spoke the rhythm and one group clapped the steady beat while singing the rhythm. I'll post a video later. Great time this week in class!
